The name 2Ks Woodworking comes from my initials—Kevin Klepp.

Twenty-seven years ago, when my family and I bought our home in Collingswood, New Jersey, my workshop started the way many do: out of necessity. It began with simple tools to fix things around the house, slowly expanding as my fascination with the craft deepened.

The real turning point came during the 2020 lockdowns. I took on a project to build custom shop cabinets for garage storage, which led to a bold challenge: designing and building my own custom CNC router from scratch.

That home-built machine worked so well, and opened up so many creative avenues, that I soon invested in an industrial Omtech laser. Today, that combination of fine carpentry, custom CNC milling, and precision laser engraving forms the heartbeat of 2Ks Woodworking.

By day, my career is in technology. By evening and weekend, that background becomes 2Ks’ greatest asset.

Woodworking is my passion, and technology is how I guarantee perfection. Digital CNC tooling and industrial laser cutting allow me to achieve exact tolerances, razor-sharp clean lines, and repeatable precision down to the millimeter. But a machine can’t finish a piece. Every cut is hand-sanded, hand-assembled, and finished with care.

While I am the hands-on maker behind every cut, 2Ks is truly a family endeavor. My wife and son are an integral part of the design process, weighing in on aesthetics, finishes, color palettes, and balance to ensure every piece leaves the shop looking its best.

There is nothing quite like working with solid domestic hardwoods—cherry, maple, and rich walnut. When matched with the right hand-rubbed finish, the natural grain patterns come alive and create timeless, heirloom-grade heirlooms like our custom inlay cutting boards.

At the same time, great signage requires the right canvas. For businesses and organizations needing vibrant, multi-layered logos, I utilize premium MDF and hardboard substrates. They machine with microscopic crispness and take painted finishes smoothly, giving commercial and dimensional signs the clean, high-impact punch they deserve.

My favorite builds are never just pieces of cut wood—they are pieces with meaning.

I love the commissions that start with: "Can you make this, because it reminds me of..."

Whether it is a custom corporate installation, a personalized set of championship team bats, an engraved photo plaque celebrating a season, or a family crest meant to hang over the mantle, I build items destined to become immediate keepsakes.

Our workshop is proudly based right here in Collingswood, NJ, where we’ve been rooted for nearly three decades. But great craftsmanship knows no zip code. Thanks to modern digital design proofs and direct communication, I collaborate with clients all across the country—taking an idea from a rough sketch to a safely crated, finished build delivered straight to their doorstep.

You can find talented makers on platforms like Etsy and Amazon—in fact, I’ve sold on Etsy myself. But big platforms are designed to serve big platforms. They take massive fees, force independent makers to inflate prices to survive, and plaster competing ads directly across your screen.
